Bio-Compatibility Testing
Why test for Bio-Compatibility?
Bio-Compatibility Hair testing is a simple non-invasive test that requires a small amount of hair to identify the influence (positive and negative) that wide range of foods and household products have on a cellular level. No blood samples or needles! Over 500 items are tested and this test is suitable for both adults and children.

**Our Bio-Compatibility test is not an allergy test**
It looks at foods that are bio-compatible.
It works on a cellular level reducing inflammatory foods that can add to the overall problem.
What is the Test useful for?
Many people suffer from health issues due to eating a particular food or being exposed to products in their environment that are incompatible with their body. This can accumulate over time.
The Bio-Compatible Hair test is useful for the following conditions:
- Digestive issues – IBS, Reflux, Leaky gut, Indigestion
- Skin problems – psoriasis, eczema and acne
- Arthritis, Pain and Inflammation
- Headaches and Migraines
- Chronic Hayfever and Sinusitis
- Behavioral Issues
- Fatigue
- Weight Loss
Bio-Compatibility testing is at a sub-clinical and cellular level. It is aimed at finding out what is causing inflammation in the body and the immune system to over-activate. By eating compatible foods only, it reduces inflammation and eliminates foods/environmental products that contribute to the overall problem. Once the immune system works more efficiently, all reactive foods should correct over time.

How to take a Hair Sample
Instructions
- Cut hair with clean stainless steel scissors. Thinning scissors can be used on short hair.
- Cut small amounts of hair from the nape of the neck and/or several other locations on the back of the scalp. Cut hair as close to the scalp as possible.
- If the sampled hair is less than 4cm long, keep all of it for testing. If the hair is longer than this, cut off and keep the 4cm of hair that was growing closest to the scalp (discard the excess). Hair sample can be made up of 3x 4cm pieces from various parts of the scalp, the total amount being close to 2 tablespoons.
- The hair needs to be clean, well-rinsed, untreated and uncoloured. If hair is treated or coloured, wait six to eight weeks and take a sample from the freshly grown untreated hair.
- Place the hair sample in a clean, clearly labelled paper envelope or sachet.
How much hair?
The laboratory requires 0.5gm (500mg) or about two (heaped) tablespoon of hair for testing.
What kind of hair?
Head hair from the back of the head is recommended for testing. Freshly grown haircut from close to the scalp reflects the body’s most recent metabolic activity.
Men with short hair- best to grow a little and make the collection from across all parts of the scalp (to avoid bald spots). No beard clippings, please.

How to take a Canine Hair Sample
Instructions
- To take the hair sample, ensure that the hair has been washed thoroughly, untreated, rinsed completely and dried. Use clean stainless steel scissors.
- Cut the hair close to the skin, in a few small portions, and from several areas on the back of the neck. For a canine sample, take several sections from above and below the collar, avoiding any area where topical treatments are applied.
- Cut hair as close to the skin as possible. The length should not be more than 5-6cm, retain the proximal (root) portion and discard the rest. This part reflects the most recent metabolic activity.
- The amount of hair necessary for analysis is approximately one tablespoon of hair, which should be placed in a paper (no plastic) envelope.
- Place the hair sample in a clean, clearly labelled paper envelope or sachet.
