What Does a Healing Journey Look Like?

Having had my own personal health journey, what I love to do is support clients on theirs, and hopefully help them avoid going down the same path that I did.

Five Lessons I Have Learnt From My Own Health Journey

  1. Healing takes time. It doesn’t happen overnight. There is no magic pill or strategy that is going to make you feel better straight away. Healing is a holistic approach and requires you to work on your whole body (not just your adrenals or your gut, for example). That’s why I love using HTMA (Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis).
  2. Look at what’s underneath your symptoms. It is important to understand the underlying patterns and imbalances that may be contributing to your symptoms. For example, low stomach acid may be one factor behind gut issues like bacterial overgrowth, infections or candida. When we support the gut environment, symptoms may improve.
  3. Consistency is key. Healing takes commitment. While some clients start to feel better quickly, lasting changes often take 3–4 months, and this is especially the case with mineral imbalances. Everyone is different.
  4. Healing is not LINEAR. For the most part, embarking on a healing journey is a positive experience. In some cases, people notice temporary changes as the body adjusts, such as tiredness or skin flare-ups. I like to think of it as the body "waking up". Always let your practitioner know how you’re feeling, so your plan can be adjusted if needed.
  5. There is rarely just ONE cause. If you are struggling with ongoing symptoms like fatigue or headaches, there is usually more than one factor involved. Health concerns tend to develop from a perfect storm of many factors, which is why a multifactorial approach makes sense.
